Film London Guided Walk: Saturday 7th November 2.30-4.30pm
We are pleased to be offering a wonderful guided walk alongside Film London by Nigel Smith.
Islington Big Screens is a stroll through more than 100 years of Islington cinema-going; all between Angel and Essex Road stations.
We’ll encounter Victorian showmen, architectural wonders and tales of bad behaviour in the stalls. Come to discover hidden gems and hear what a night ‘at the flicks’ was like decades before multiplexes. In addition to such landmarks as the Screen on the Green, you’ll see some buildings that were once cinemas as well as a few intriguing places where all trace of their cinematic past has vanished.
PLEASE NOTE: The walk will last about 2 hours and will go ahead come rain or shine so please do wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. The walk will meet and start from Angel station at 2.30pm on Saturday 7th November and end at approximately 4.30pm at Essex Road Station. Books will be given out at the start of the walk.
Your ticket includes the guided walk and a copy of Film London.
