Local writer Thomas de Waal will be talking about his book The Caucasus: An Introduction, a definitive guide to the history and politics of the three fascinating countries of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, one of the most diverse and challenging regions on earth. With its multi-layered history, ethnic complexity, and seemingly intractable conflicts, the South Caucasus region has once again captured international attention because of its role in disputes between the West and Russia.
