Thur Jun 30 Poetry Evening Pantling & Beckett FREE

£0.00Price
Join us for an evening of poetry with local poet Nigel Pantling, whose collection KINGDOM POWER GLORY is published by Smith Doorstop, and Elaine Beckett one of Faber's 2016 New Poets. Free and unticketed, but please email orders@ink84bookshop.co.uk to reserve a place. 7pm.
Nigel Pantling was a soldier in Northern Ireland during the early years of ‘The Troubles’, private secretary to Ministers in the Home Office during the most turbulent year of the Thatcher Government, and a merchant banker in the 90’s when privatisations and mergers and acquisitions were rampant. His poetry draws on the danger, the absurdity and the human frailty he has seen first hand. Nigel lives in Highbury. This is his first full poetry collection.
Elaine Beckett has been longlisted for The Bridport Prize and been published in Templar's Skein anthology, South Bank Poetry, and the Bloodaxe Raving Beauties anthology, Hallelujah For Fifty-Foot Women. She lives in Dorset and is a university lecturer.
