Ink & Drink Comes To Zoom...

Our very popular INK & DRINK Book Club will meet via Zoom on Wednesday April 21st at 7pm when we'll be reading Yaa Gyasi's new novel Transcendent Kingdom. Longlisted for this year's Women's Prize, Gyasi's follow-up to her bestselling novel Homegoing, is the tale of one young woman's attempt to trace her family's story through continents and generations: a journey that carries her from Ghana to Alabama and deep into the dark heart of modern America. It's about love, loss and redemption, and the myriad ways we try to rebuild our lives from the rubble of our collective pasts. 'A book of blazing brilliance,' according to the Washington Post. 'A piercing story of faith, science and the opioid crisis...There's bravery as well as beauty here' according to the Observer. Discussion will be led online by local writer Louise Tucker and will last one hour. This is a gloriously packaged hardback edition so tickets are £16.99 to include a copy of the book, which can be collected or posted. Please purchase tickets on our website using the link below. Space is limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
